New iPhone 6s?

We’re heading into September, and that means it’s time for the new iPhone to be announced. An annual event has, as usual, been scheduled for September 9th, and it’s time to predict what we’ll see in the new ‘S’ model. The S model year typically comes with no major cosmetic changes, with most variations over the 6 model to be under-the hood, such as a new processor and increased memory. Below are the top 3 biggest expected changes with the rumored “iPhone 6s”.

1. Force Touch

First seen in the Apple Watch, which was announced in late March, force touch allows the screen to “detect the difference between a touch and a press”. It has since been incorporated into the Macbook and the Macbook Pro Retina trackpads. It’s widely expected that this feature will be incorporated into the new iPhone, adding a slight increase in thickness, but very little weight.

2. Improved Camera

An improvement discussed every year, an improved camera is expected to return to the newest iPhone. While reports do vary, it is expected that the new iPhone will feature a 12 megapixel sensor, as well as the ability to shoot 4k video.

3. iOS 9

The launch of the new iPhone has always been paired with the release of the latest and greatest operating system. iOS 9 has been available since late June to developers, as well as being in public beta. It features mainly speed and battery optimisation, as well as minor functionality improvements such as being to search for settings and an improved Siri voice search.
